1. I need an escape for my thoughts.
  2. Writing is not only a gift for me but also a calling.
  3. I can speak to others.
  4. The Entrepreneur in me will not allow me to quit.
  5. There’s no better feeling than seeing the finished product of something you put your heart in.
  6. I fucking love the way words look on a white background.
  7. I love hearing the click of the keyboard.
  8. One day I will be speaking to a group of people about my creative process, I just know it. (To be frank, there is no process, but they will not know that)
  9. I am the only Writer in my family, it differentiates me from the clan.
  10. My limited vocabulary gets bigger each time.
  11. Writing allows me to advocate my passions and desires without much effort.
  12. There are no boundaries, I can be anywhere at any time and just click “Publish.”
  13. I have a laptop with internet access, why not use it for something good? I can’t be watching cat videos on Facebook all day.
  14. My words and thoughts can have a profound effect on someone’s life, more than I may even know.
  15. My catalog serves as a resume of sorts for my time here on earth. When someone asks what do I do, I can point to this library of work. (Over 100 posts)
  16. When I write I learn something new about myself each time. It is like digging deep to uncover the real me.
  17. I want to have a legacy, something that will live on long after I am gone.
  18. When I am old, weak and unable to do most things, I will still be able to write.
  19. Whether I am helping someone improve their writing or improving their life, it makes me feel good to be a part of their process.
  20. To be honest, I want to be recognized for what I do someday. Maybe that is the real reason behind this bullshit, but if I get to live one of my true passions in the process, it is not wrong right?

  1. The aesthetic of neat, organized words on a white background is so true. Also, the sound of typing on a keyboard!! I completely agree with everything in this, I’m really glad I came across your platform. Your personality bleeds through your words and I love feeling inspired after reading your writing.

  2. LOVE THIS! You know…we do this because, as Hemingway once said, when you write, you sit down and let your heart bleed. For now, we do it for free. But it’s because our hearts know it’s a calling. Keep on keepin’ on. πŸ™‚

    1. Oh yes, I can attest to that. Each time I put my fingers to the keyboard I am distributing my feelings within that moment onto the screen. When writing comes from the heart you feel it and that is what I love. Stay blessed.

  3. number 16 rings true to me. Especially now that im doing a 30-day blogging challenge. The writing prompts forces me to really reflect on what I really think about things i never really took time to think about.

    1. Thanks for your feedback Reis. Indeed, writing especially about life and self-improvement topics really triggers a lot of introspection and retrospection on your own life.

Interesting, your 30-day writing challenge. I just completed one earlier this year as it was something I always wanted to accomplish. It was such a great feeling. I wrote about the journey and what I learned in this post: https://theunschool.blog/2017/01/12/this-is-what-i-have-learned-blogging-consecutively-for-the-past-31-days/

All the best on your journey and I look forward to reading about how it changed your life. One Love!
